DAVID VÀZQUEZ

David Vàzquez was born into a flamenco family where he took his first steps in family gatherings at the hands of his professional singers' uncles from the 70s.

His professional career has been developed mainly singing and working with all the great figures of the artists, Winy Amaya (niece of the great Carmen Amaya) at the Tablao “El Flamenco” in Tokyo, María Juncal, Conchi Jareño, Rafaela Carrasco, Marcos Flores, with the teacher Antonio Canales, Titi Flores, Carmen La Talegona, Guadalupe Torres, Pedro Córdoba, Sergio Aranda, Belen Maya, Karen Lugo, among other artists.

 

He has collaborated as an author and interpreter in several flamenco shows of theatrical essence: “Remembranzas”, by Eli La Truco; “De Romero y Azahar”, by Inmaculada Ortega; "Origins" by Nacho Arimany; and “Destemplao”, by María Juncal, among others. He sung every day in the best tablaos in Madrid, alongside other colleagues such as Manuel Malena, Talegón de Córdoba, Rafael Jiménez “Falo”, Pepe “El Bocadillo”, Beni de Córdoba, Manuel Palacín, Pedro Obregón, Emilio Florido, Manuel Gago, among other artists.

He appears as a cantaor in the film "Camarón," by Jaime Chavarri, Toni Maya, and Enrique Pantoja. The versatile singer has collaborated with different musical groups, such as Alex Ikot, a great African musician, or Angel Rubio, a jazz musician.

Currently, he collaborates with Daniel Doña in two productions, NO Pausa and Habitat, and with the Rafaela Carrasco Company. He is also a specialist teacher in the specialty of Flamenco at the María de Ávila Superior Dance Conservatory in Madrid since 2012.
