Alberto Centella

Alberto Centella was born and raised in Madrid. His education was focused in musical and artistic skills, graduating in music and journalism at UCM (Complutense University). In 2013 he begins to work as a composer for some spectacles, highlighting the music of the play "La hermosa Jarifa", for the Spanish National Theater Company in co-production with Almagro International Classical Theater festival".

 

The score of the play was a contemporary interpretation of the worlds of modern Flamenco music and medieval Al Andalus tradition. From this project, in conjunction with other artists, a music group is born, "Vandalus", with a remarkable artistic development and trajectory until nowadays.

After this work, he develop his career as a composer "Wallada, la última princesa Omeya", "The 400 days", "La viuda valenciana".

Alberto plays wind instruments in some other projects, all related to Flamenco and world music, standing out the Middle East root music band, "Orontes".

He has two albums, one as a composer and player, "Vandalus - New World" 2017, and as an arranger and player, "Orontes - Dancing on the head of the Snakes".
